New Patients
Physicians who affiliate with New York Methodist Hospital receive referrals for new patients through the Physician Referral Service,
available on NYM.org and by telephone. NYM provides thousands of
referrals each year.
Technology
One of the ways that NYM retains quality physicians is by continually
acquiring and maintaining technologically advanced equipment in each
department.
Nursing Care
NYM takes pride in staffing high quality, well-trained nurses who are
capable of assisting our physicians. Nursing leadership collaborates
with doctors to respond to patients' needs and solve problems as they
arise.
Education
As a teaching hospital, New York Methodist offers comprehensive,
educational events and lectures given by nationally-renowned speakers.
Most events are eligible for CME credits. In addition to CME events, we
offer a full array of resident and fellowship opportunities. Our medical library is available for research purposes.
Choices
New York Methodist is a teaching hospital with residents available to assist
physicians in patient care. However, physicians who prefer to work without help from residents are free to do so.

Social Events
Hospital departments host periodic social events, holiday parties, and celebrations for resident graduations. Physicians are also welcome to attend Hospital fundraising events.
Convenience
EMR Access from Anywhere
New York Methodist offers its physicians a sophisticated computerized order-entry system. Physicians can log in from anywhere
and view patients' progress, including relevant lab results (in- and
outpatient), radiological images and emergency department records.
Laboratory Services
NYM provides lab services for physician offices, nursing homes and individual patients. We offer on-demand courier service, perform lab testing every day (including holidays) and can provide same-day service for most routine tests.
Parking
NYM provides physicians with free parking which is a rare privilege in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. Physician parking is conveniently located on Sixth Street near Eighth Avenue.
Lounge space
Located on the
main floor of the Buckley Pavilion, the Physician's Lounge offers comfortable seating, a
large screen television, telephones, computer terminals with Internet access,
and free food and beverages.
