Inpatient Pediatric Services -- 718.780.5260

Children who need constant care to treat their illness or injury are admitted to our pediatric inpatient area.  New York Methodist's cheerfully decorated area is staffed by registered nurses with specialized training, and pediatricians who are board certified or board eligible. Because New York Methodist is a teaching hospital, pediatric resident physicians are also involved in the care of patients.

Parents are encouraged to be involved with their child's care; the staff is always available to answer questions and to make the stay less stressful for all family members. Parents are futher encouraged to be with their children at any time during the day and overnight.

Registered nurses, nurse technicians, and volunteers all help to make the hospital experience a positive one for children. Art projects, story book reading, and other activities are available on the unit. In addition, the unit is home to P.S.403, A Board of Education sponsored school staffed with a certified teacher who helps students keep current with their homework.
