The pituitary is the master gland of the endocrine system and located at the base of the brain.  There are a number of disorders associated with the pituitary gland.  Laboratory tests and radiology procedures are used to diagnose them.  Most of these disorders are caused by pituitary tumors, including:

• Cushing's disease
• Acromegaly
• Hypopituitarism

New York Methodist's Pituitary Program makes use of a team of specialists in both endocrinology and neurosurgery.  It also uses state-of-the-art equipment that facilitates the minimally invasive surgery used to excise pituitary tumors.  When necessary, our team also provides follow-up treatment, including:
