Surgery Residency | Rotation
PGY-I
- Team A: three months of general surgery, including head and neck, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery
, “open” urology, and bariatric surgery.
- Team B: three months of general surgery, including thoracic surgery and vascular surgery.
- Team C: three and a half months of general surgery, including trauma.
- Anesthesiology: two weeks.
- Emergency Department: one month.
- Vacation: one month.
PGY-II
- Team A: two weeks of general surgery, including head and neck, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, “open” urology and bariatric surgery.
- Team B: one month general surgery, including
thoracic surgery and vascular surgery.
- Team C: one month general surgery, including
trauma.
- Cardiothoracic Surgery: one month.
- Surgical Critical Care: seven months.
- Burn Care: two weeks at Weill Cornell Medical College.
- Vacation: one month.
PGY-III
- Team A: three months of general surgery, including
head and neck,
pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, “open” urology and bariatric surgery.
- Team B: two months of general surgery, including
thoracic surgery
and vascular surgery.
- Team C: two and a half months of general surgery, including
trauma, endoscopy, vascular laboratory and radiology.
- Trauma: two months at Kings County Medical Center.
- Transplantation: one month at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
- Burn Care: two weeks at Weill Cornell Medical College.
- Vacation: one month.
PGY-IV
- Team A: three and a half months of general surgery, including
head and neck, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, “open” urology and bariatric surgery.
- Team B: three and a half months general surgery, including
thoracic surgery and vascular surgery.
- Team C: four months of general surgery including trauma/ burns and trauma/ neurosurgery.
- Vacation: one month.
PGY-V
- Team A: three months and three weeks of general surgery, including
head and neck, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, “open” urology
and bariatric surgery.
- Team B: three months and three weeks of general surgery, including
thoracic surgery and vascular surgery.
- Team C: three months and three weeks
of general surgery including trauma/ burns and neurosurgery.
