Visiting Hours and Policies

Brighten Someone's Day with a Visit

If you have a friend or loved one staying at New York Methodist, we encourage you to stop in for a visit. Friends and relatives who wish to know your location, condition, or visiting hours, may call Patient Information at (718) 780-3010.

Visiting Hours:

Medical/Surgical

 

9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Pediatrics

 

Noon - 8:00 PM
Parents may visit anytime.
One parent is encouraged to stay overnight.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

 

Parents may visit anytime.
One parent is encouraged to stay overnight.
Visit by other relatives can be arranged with the nurse.

Mother/Baby Unit

 

General visitors and sibling: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Fathers: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Neonatal

 

24-hour visiting for parents and grandparents.

Intensive Care Nursery

 

One daily visit for parents for 20 minutes.
Siblings may visit, accompanied by a parent, for 20 minutes between 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

Adult Psychiatry

 

Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays: Noon - 8:00 PM

Seniors Psychiatry

 

Noon - 8:00 PM

Oncology

 

24-hour visiting.

Critical Care Units

 

24-hour visiting: Two visitors per bedside.

Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit

 

24-hour visiting: Two visitors per bedside.

Rehabilitation

 

9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Therapy

 

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

If you need to visit at a time other than the ones listed above, please arrange to do so with the nurse of the unit. Visiting hours may be modified according to a patient's needs or during emergency situations.

Visiting Policies

You may have two visitors at a time. Children under the age of 14 may visit only with the permission of the nurse manager or nursing supervisor. However, siblings of newborn babies, age two and above, are permitted to visit the Mother/Baby Unit from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You may have up to four visitors at a bedside in the Birthing Center.

Please ask your visitors not to leave young children unattended in the lobby. Also, ask visitors to cooperate in following smoking regulations. Smoking is especially dangerous when oxygen is in use.
