Visiting Hours and Policies



9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit


Parents may visit anytime.
One parent is encouraged to stay overnight.
Visit by other relatives can be arranged with the nurse.

Mother/Baby Unit


General visitors and sibling: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Fathers: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.



24-hour visiting for parents and grandparents.

Intensive Care Nursery


One daily visit for parents for 20 minutes.
Siblings may visit, accompanied by a parent, for 20 minutes between 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Adult Psychiatry


Monday to Friday: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Seniors Psychiatry


12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Critical Care Units


24-hour visiting: Two visitors per bedside.

Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit


24-hour visiting: Two visitors per bedside.



9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.



9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

In some cases, visiting hours may be modified, through a unit's nurse, according to a patient's needs or during emergency situations.

A patient may have two visitors at a time. Children under the age of 14 may visit only with the permission of the nurse manager or nursing supervisor. However, siblings of newborn babies, age two and above, are permitted to visit the Mother/Baby Unit from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A patient  may have up to four visitors at a bedside in the Birthing Center.

Visitors should comply with all NYM policies and instructions. This includes, but is not limited to, not leaving young children unattended and refraining from smoking on NYM's campus.
